A Walk in Watkins Park documents how one volunteer group changed its corner of the world. The film is written from the perspective of an African American man who calls the Watkins park neighborhood home. As he walks the park we see his world through his eyes. The film offers perspective of time. Walk the park and see how small steps of kindness lead to a world of change in this once forgotten neighborhood.
In this case it was the Rotary Club of Nashville that became the unsuspecting friends of Watkins park. This once predominately white male civic group took on this project a decade ago. Things have changed for both the park and the Rotary club. Each, more diverse and progressive due to many things including each other.
Watch a Walk In Watkins Park, walk the park and change your world.

"I fall in love with my films. It is my guilty pleasure.   For it is because I love them that I can spend so much time with them. It takes time to seek the truth.  It takes time to pick and choose the right words to bring facts to life. A Walk in Watkins Park is my time well spent.  We all have a Watkins Park.  Our corner of the world that deserves a chance.  Our corner of the world that we try to change yet still question,  "does it matter?"  This film is all about what matters.  How time and collective effort can do amazing things.   This film offers the luxury of perspective.  Perspective that invites new friends, gets us to move on and see beauty in what is meant to be.  I invite you to take a walk in the park."
